Hi all!

It's been a while since @tailhook has been on GitHub, and whilst I don't particularly love the idea of creating a fork, with KDL 2.0 on the horizon (#35), it might be something thinking about?

I'm happy to host a fork in the meantime, I'm already needing to use a patched git-version of knuffel, but it's not certain that I'll have the time to implement bigger changes like the move to KDL 2.0, so that might take @tailhook 's help, or some help from the broader community!

If anyone else is keen on having a crates.io version of knuffel with some patches merged in, let me know and I can sort something out!

I suppose I was holding out to see if the situation would change with @tailhook , but it doesn't seem like that's likely to happen soon, so I'm happy to make a proper fork of this repo in the coming week, then merge in the changes I've made / try to transfer over any outstanding PRs!

I've personally not added more features since January, but I reckon the community would benefit from having a community-maintained fork — especially if we want to implement KDL 2.0 support!

Hi both @pitbuster and @twop !

Sorry for the delay on my end here — yeah, I think it's about time we officially fork things. I can start just by forking over the main branch, then I can copy over any PRs and merge those in. I'll try to copy issues too!

I'll create the repo this evening, but in the meantime, any naming suggestions? I've not properly thought about it, but here are some starting ideas (obviously this can be changed between creating the repo this evening and the first crates.io publication):

1. knus same sort of thing as knuffel, but it's Danish instead of Dutch?
2. kerfuffle no other reason than it's unique and kinda sounds like knuffel
3. ruffel re-knuffel? But that's frighteningly close to https://github.com/ruffle-rs/ruffle, so I don't know if I'm a fan of that

I'm sure some of you have better ideas, but I'll aim to make a knus repo unless I hear otherwise and we'll get things moving again!

The fork has been renamed and is up here: https://github.com/TheLostLambda/knus

It's published to crates.io, so you should be able to migrate over, but it's currently the same (except for the name change) as the current knuffel version.

I'll be merging in the PRs I have on this repo gradually, and I look forward to looking at PRs from all of you as well!

I'll set up some nice CI and maybe add a justfile too — let me know if you have any other suggestions!
