Performance regressions CI

Hi, would there be interest in adding a new workflow to test performance regressions? Even though the work on the base code is not major at the moment, dependencies can also introduce performance improvements and regressions.

My proposition would be to introduce criterion along with some template files automatically generated, to test for possible regressions.
