Would it make sense to enable up/down arrow keys to operate on the search results without needing to tab from the search input box to the search results pane?

This suggestion could be obsolete if the search results are moved to a modal (#48). Although, it has the same property identified in option 4 in that discussion in that, if the need to focus search results goes away, and tab pane content focus goes away, then shift+tab is never needed. It's just tab to move from search, to unit panes, and back to search, etc.

I prefer not to "overload" widgets (with the exception of #43). I, for example, never use up,down for navigation. I only ever use j,k and that wouldn't make much sense for the input widget. Also, since everything is configurable, a user might not even have up,down configured as navigation otherwise, and this would be "unexpected" behaviour.

IMO, it is okay to expect the user to press tab or enter to jump to the next widget. And I would rather "enforce" one additional keypress than have a complex UI.

I guess I should read through all the docs before I start posting more discussions. :) I hadn't seen this: https://isd-project.github.io/isd/#customizeability

Or the selecting multiple units which would have informed me before posting #49.

It shows me that I should probably also make a short YouTube introduction/tutorial to explain what design intentions were and to present features that might be hard to find.
