Missing .desktop files

When installing blender using this derivation (at least when I copy the expression into plain nix to avoid the flake bug https://github.com/edolstra/nix-warez/issues/1), I don't get any .desktop file, meaning that I can't easily run it from my desktop manager. It would be great to add one.
