You're lucky DFS releases its AIXM! NAV CANADA wants to hold onto or sell its data ... 🙁
So we could build some things with KMLs and have them imported into Ground Radar and TopSky... Cool! Which raw files?
Yours is a separate app from this MapBuilder MapBuilder - Create custom interactive maps<https://mapbuilder.wri.org/> ?
thanks!

Basically, it builds maps as the name says. ;)
The itch we scratched by building this was two-fold: We wanted to consume AIXM data that our German ANSP has recently released and re-use data to do things like easily create color variations for day and night schemes as existing in real German towers.
So, by now it takes KML, AIXM, Raw files, and a few other things and makes them available in Jinja templates to print out in EuroScope/Topsky/GroundRadar-compatible geometries or used for calculations (think dashed lines for extended centerlines).
It sadly does not do our job as facilty engineering all by itself, but gives great help in using and re-using data we have to expedite the creation and maintenance of radar displays. If you have any further specific questions, shoot!

Yes, you can draw things in Google Earth/qGIS, have KML files and use these to generate maps. The structure is up to you, as you will use your structure to generate the maps by specifying what goes where (this is what I referred to as "it doesn't do our job by itself"). We are not related to your linked project. |

Hello again.
Thanks for your kind reply! 🙂)
I note with interest that Canada publishes its AIX data via EUROCONTROL's EAD.
Is that where you download your data for Germany?
If so, do you use EAD basic? Or something else?
I'll be eager to see what's published for here 🙂
Kids regards,
Joel

No, DFS directly publishes its data on the AIP publication site. |

Hi Franz -
I'm with the Moncton / Gander FIR on the other side of the big water :) .
I came across your utility and wonder how it works and if it's possibly suitable for us to build maps in our area...
many thanks!
Joel
