Python // Media-Index

** YOU WILL GET THE BEST RESULTS ON LINUX **

LINUX OS PACKAGE DEPENDENCIES:

  • libmediainfo or mediainfo
  • tk

PYTHON 3 - PIP DEPENDENCIES:

  • csv

  • datetime

  • difflib

  • json

  • os

  • pathlib

  • re

  • textwrap

  • time

  • ascii_graph

  • guessit

  • imdbpy

  • pyfiglet

  • pymediainfo

  • tkinter

MEDIA-INDEX USAGE(S):

** IF FIRST TIME RUNNING

  1. /RUN/B_M_I_V3.py

  2. Enter your Username

  3. Enter Directories for Movies and TV Show Libraries

    (If entering Alternate Directories, when complete, just hit Cancel after finishing selection of both the Alternate Movie Path's, then the same for Alternate TV Show Path's)

    (If you ever need to change or update Directories, use (OPTION #1) "ADD / CHANGE DATABASE DIRECTORIES" to do so)

  4. From MAIN MENU, Hit (OPTION #2) "CREATE PATH INDICES" (** QUICK **)

  5. From MAIN MENU, Hit (OPTION #3) "CREATE MEDIA INFORMATION INDICES" (** LONG **)

  6. When step 5 is complete, you will have full functionality for the MEDIA_INDEX.

** IF NOT FIRST TIME RUNNING

  1. /RUN/B_M_I_V3.py

  2. Enter Username

  3. MAIN MENU

** OPTIONAL EXTRA FEATURES: **

  1. COMPARE TWO USERS' INDICES

  2. COMPARE NEW FILES AGAINST EXISTING DATABASE (e.g. with conflicts, which Files are "Better" and either should or should not be replaced, if Files are new to the Database or not, etc.)

  3. PLOT(S) SCANNING and SEARCH FEATURES
